“The White Parasol” Sitatapatra Sutra 大白伞盖佛母经
The White Umbrella Deity is relied upon for protection; healing illness; dispelling interferences, spirit possession, and harmful forces; quelling disasters; averting obstacles; and bringing auspiciousness.
他们见到真谛之后，禀告佛陀：“世尊！我们因为佛陀证得了解脱之果，这不是父母、祖先、国王、天神、沙门、婆罗门、亲友眷属等等所能做到的。我们因为依靠大善知识世尊您，使我们被救出地狱道、畜生道、饿鬼道，安置在人间、天上这么美好的地方；终结了痛苦，可以得到涅槃的快乐；干涸了血泪之海，超越了枯骨之山；无始以来所积聚的萨迦耶见完全消灭，获得了初果。如今，我们皈依佛、法、僧宝，希望世尊为我们证明：我们是优婆塞、优婆夷，从今天起直到命终，接受五戒──不杀生，乃至不饮酒。”他们说完，就一起礼拜佛陀的双足，欢喜地奉行佛陀的教诲。03:10
自与他双方，
恶苦既相同，
自他何差殊？
何故唯自护？
Since I and other beings both,
In feeing suffering, are equal and alike,
What difference is there to distinguish us,
That I should save myself and not the other?

手足肢虽众，护如身则同；
众生苦乐殊，求乐与我同。

虽吾所受苦，不伤他人身，
此苦亦当除，执我难忍故。

如是他诸苦，虽不临吾身，
彼苦仍应除，执我难忍故。

我应除他苦，他苦如自苦；
我当利乐他，有情如吾身。

Since I and other beings both,
In wanting happiness, are equal and alike,
What difference is there to distinguish us,
That I should strive to have my bliss alone?
长者就想：“我的新屋刚落成，就能供养佛陀和僧众，这真是一件再吉祥不过的事了！”便说：“那你就把东西留下吧！去请佛陀和僧众来这间屋子里接受供养。”贫生童子就留下东西而离开了。隔天，他就到佛陀的住处，礼拜佛陀的双足，长跪合掌，禀告佛陀：“世尊！请求您明天莅临长者家，慈悲接受微薄的供养！”世尊默然，接受了他的请求。他看到佛陀接受了，便礼拜双足而离去，并请长者知道了时间。02:22
我应除他苦，
他苦如自苦；
我当利乐他，
有情如吾身。
And therefore I’ll dispel the pain of others,
For it is simply pain, just like my own.
And others I will aid and benefit,
For they are living beings, just like me.
如是他诸苦，
虽不临吾身，
彼苦仍应除，
执我难忍故。
And other beings’ pain
I do not feel, and yet
Because I take them for my own
Their suffering is likewise hard to bear.
虽吾所受苦，
不伤他人身，
此苦亦当除，
执我难忍故。
My pain does not in fact afflict
Or cause discomfort to another’s body.
Thought clinging to my “I”, this suffering is mine.
And being mine, is very hard to bear.
