Why should we uphold our ethical discipline properly? Because we believe in karma! Should we do things that Buddha said will bring us happiness now and in the future too? Yes. How about those that will bring pain and suffering instead in the future? No. Pertaining to those that give us suffering now but lead to happiness in future? Yes.
